Every year it seems more tours are allowing the use of golf push carts in competition. The newest entry for the 2012 season is the LPGA’s developmental tour, the Symetra Tour. For economic reasons, players on the “Road to the LPGA” typically do not use professional caddies opting instead to carry their own clubs. The ability to use a golf push cart now offers each player another option.

Other tours that have begun to allow the use of golf push carts and golf pull carts include the IJGT (International Junior Golf Tour), the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association), NCAA Women’s Golf, and High School girls’ golf.

Sun Mountain first introduced the revolutionary three-wheeled golf push cart, Speed Cart®, in 1999 and sales and interest and usage have increased every year since. The Sun Mountain cart line-up now includes the three-wheeled Speed Cart V1 and SV1, and the four-wheeled Micro-CartTM.

In many golf leagues the number of golfers walking and pushing their clubs outnumbers the players riding in a motorized cart. It is a trend that has been growing for 13 years and will hopefully continue to build.
